The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the Dry Retention Reservoir project, which will help improve flood safety and create new green spaces in Metlika. The project will receive nearly €700,00 from the European Regional Development Fund.

State Secretary Rok Šimenc participated in the 6th international development conference Welcome Future – Cities in Motion which was held in Velenje. The conference brough together representatives of local governments and business community, researchers and academics as well as representatives of national and EU institutions to discuss ways to unlock new development opportunities for cities undergoing economic, energy and social transformation.

Minister Dr Monika Kirbiš Rojs and State Secretary Rok Šimenc attended the 12th regular meeting of the Development Council of the Zahodna Slovenija Cohesion Region today at the Rog Centre in Ljubljana. Council members discussed implementing the Agreements on the Development of Regions for 2021-2027, future directions for regional development, and preparations for the new 2028-2034 funding period.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Arrangement of the Ljubljanska ulica Street in Maribor. The investment will improve the conditions for sustainable mobility and enhance safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. The project will receive €1.74 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Policy has approved EU funding for street redesign projects in Maribor and Koper. The projects will be implemented under the Integrated Territorial Investments mechanism which supports integrated urban development. They will help improve road safety, promote sustainable mobility and contribute to the redevelopment of public space. The projects will receive €4.56 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a project aimed at upgrading the national research infrastructure (RIUM 2). The project will receive over €17 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Restoration and establishment of habitat types and improvement of habitats for selected species at Lake Cerknica, the Javorniki Mountains, the Planinsko polje Plateau and Nanoščica, with the acronym REVITA 2. The project will receive just over €2.8 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Cycle route Kvedrova cesta–Bolnica. The project will receive over €200 thousand from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a project supporting the development of a new cycling route in the Municipality of Kočevje. The project will receive over €1 million from the Cohesion Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project that supports the establishment of a national research infrastructure on Slovenian genome (1+MGenom-SI). The project will receive nearly €1.5 million from the Cohesion Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a project aimed at providing support and advice services before and after retirement, with a focus on extending the working life of older workers and encouraging the reactivation of older people. The project will receive nearly €4 million from the European Social Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for an ITI-funded project aiming to improve walking and cycling infrastructure. The project will receive over €1.3 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project National cycling connection R10 Ljubgojna-Vrzdenec. The project will receive over €1 million from the Cohesion Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for a call for proposals aimed at promoting the development and deployment of new business models and processes based on the principles of circular economy and digitalisation. Over €13.3 million will be allocated from the European Regional Development Fund to support the implementation of the call.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for an ITI project in the Urban Municipality of Krško. The project will receive over €2.7 million from the European Regional Development Fund.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for two street redevelopment projects in Celje and Murska Sobota. The projects aim to promote safer, more equitable and more sustainable city streets, while encouraging walking and cycling. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute €3.29 million to the projects.

The documentation relating to the Open Call for Proposals for Small-scale Projects under the Interreg Slovenia–Croatia Programme 2021–2027 (Reference Number 4300-132/2023-1630-4), published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia, Number 116/23, on 17 November 2023, is amended with regard to the amount of the available funding and the name of the responsible ministry.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Hydraulic improvement of the Trbovlje water supply system. The project will help reduce water losses and ensure a more reliable supply of drinking water to residents. The Cohesion Fund contribution to the project stands at just over € 800,000.

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for two projects, namely the project Improving the status of species and habitat types in the Natura 2000 sites of Pohorje - Pohorka and the project Marshes and wetland meadows – MOČvira. The European Regional Development Fund will contribute a total of €5.75 million to the projects, which will help restore threatened habitats and conserve biodiversity.
