EU funding for a new sewerage system in Rakek

The Ministry of Local Self-Government, Cohesion and Regional Development has approved EU funding for the project Equipping the Rakek 2019 agglomeration. The project will receive almost €2.5 million from the Cohesion Fund.

The investment covers the construction of a new sewerage system for the collection of municipal wastewater in the Rakek 2019 agglomeration. Specifically, a total of 9,419.40 metres of sewer network will be constructed, comprising 6,899.70 metres of gravity sewerage and 2,519.70 metres of pressure sewerage, together with the associated pumping stations. The project will enable an additional 751 population equivalents to be connected to an appropriate wastewater collection and treatment system. The investment will help protect groundwater and improve residents’ quality of life.

The project is implemented under Slovenia’s EU Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 and is co-financed by the Cohesion Fund.

The total project value is €6,586,338.44, of which €2,433,490.19 will be provided by the Cohesion Fund. The beneficiary of the funding is the Municipality of Cerknica.
