    Prime Minister Golob: "Housing policy has gained significant momentum"

    Prime Minister Robert Golob began the second part of the Government’s visit to the Osrednjaslovenska region with a visit to the new residential neighbourhood in Zelena jama in Ljubljana, which provides 87 public rental apartments in four buildings, along with a shared communal area and landscaped park space.

    Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon took part in an informal video conference with the foreign ministers of the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The discussion focused on Iran and the situation in the broader Middle East. Speaking on behalf of Slovenia, Minister Fajon thanked the Gulf partners for their invaluable assistance to Slovenian citizens and for facilitating their repatriation from the region.

    193rd regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

    At today's session, the Government adopted the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence until 2030, the Strategy for Coherent Regional Development, and the Slovenian Startup Strategy to support the development of innovative companies. It also reviewed the Spring Forecast of Economic Trends 2026.

    To help Slovenian citizens in the Middle East, Slovenia has arranged two extra repatriation flights with FlyDubai from the United Arab Emirates. We have now begun contacting citizens in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

    The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, in cooperation with the Faculty of Law of the University of Ljubljana, organised an event entitled Presentation of the first Voluntary Report of the Republic of Slovenia on the Implementation and Dissemination of Knowledge of International Humanitarian Law.

  • Agreement enables state of the art searches for Slovenian patent applicants

    A new Cooperation Agreement between the Visegrad Patent Institute and the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office on Search Cooperation has been signed. The Agreement enables patent applicants in Slovenia to obtain a search report accompanied by a written opinion for national patent applications, in accordance with the standards applied under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

  • European Commission issues positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request

    Today, the European Commission issued a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request for funding under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of NextGenerationEU. Slovenia is expected to receive the payment next month, estimated at €230 million. Following the disbursement, the utilisation of the funds available to Slovenia under the Facility will exceed 80%.

    The Archivalia of the Month section features the Archivalia of the month of March, which is dedicated to the legendary Miki Muster and his stories, comics, caricatures, and animated films which left an indelible mark not only on Slovenian but also on the broader European landscape of illustration and animation.     Miki Muster – the Slovenian Walt Disney and His Animated Film Tovarna motornih koles Tomos (Tomos Motorcycle Factory)

    The legendary Miki Muster and his stories, comics, caricatures, and animated films left an indelible mark not only on Slovenian but also on the broader European landscape of illustration and animation. Preserved at the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia we keep seven of his animated films, among them Puščica (1960), Kurir Nejček (1961) and Zimska zgodba (1962), as well as his 1958 animated promotional film for the Tomos Factory, which is presented here as this month's archivalia.
