The Government proclaimed National Reading Day as part of the implementation of the objectives of the National Strategy for the Development of Reading Literacy 2019–2030.

In celebration of International Women's Day, the Slovenian Film Centre and Slovenian Cinematheque present a special online film screening March 8 with Slovenian Women Producers.

Prime Minister Robert Golob began the second part of the Government’s visit to the Osrednjaslovenska region with a visit to the new residential neighbourhood in Zelena jama in Ljubljana, which provides 87 public rental apartments in four buildings, along with a shared communal area and landscaped park space.

At today's session, the Government adopted the National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence until 2030, the Strategy for Coherent Regional Development, and the Slovenian Startup Strategy to support the development of innovative companies. It also reviewed the Spring Forecast of Economic Trends 2026.

To help Slovenian citizens in the Middle East, Slovenia has arranged two extra repatriation flights with FlyDubai from the United Arab Emirates. We have now begun contacting citizens in Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

A new Cooperation Agreement between the Visegrad Patent Institute and the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office on Search Cooperation has been signed. The Agreement enables patent applicants in Slovenia to obtain a search report accompanied by a written opinion for national patent applications, in accordance with the standards applied under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

Today, we celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Türkiye and the Republic of Slovenia, on March 3rd, 2011. Today, the European Commission issued a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request for funding under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of NextGenerationEU. Slovenia is expected to receive the payment next month, estimated at €230 million. Following the disbursement, the utilisation of the funds available to Slovenia under the Facility will exceed 80%.

At an informal video conference of EU foreign affairs ministers, Slovenia’s Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon warned of the risk of a wider regional conflict and called for immediate de-escalation and restraint. She stressed that the people of Iran must be free to determine their own future.

Preserved at the Archives of the Republic of Slovenia we keep seven of his animated films, among them Puščica (1960), Kurir Nejček (1961) and Zimska zgodba (1962), as well as his 1958 animated promotional film for the Tomos Factory, which is presented here as this month's archivalia.

Slovenia is following with concern reports of the Israeli-U.S. strike on Iran. We call on all parties involved to immediately de-escalate tensions, exercise restraint, and fully respect international law and the UN Charter. Further escalation could have serious consequences for regional and international security.
