At the Office for Sustainable Competitive Development, we focus on implementing measures in the areas of sustainable energy use and sustainable mobility—that is, on promoting competitive development in the fields of energy and sustainable mobility in Slovenia.

At our office, we are responsible for promoting initiatives in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, and mobility, as well as public transit, with the goal of reducing carbon footprint to ensure a better quality of life in the future.

The tasks within the Office for Sustainable Competitive Development’s area of responsibility are carried out by the Financial Incentives Division and the Systemic Affairs Division.

Within the Office, we carry out key tasks in the areas of sustainable energy use, sustainable mobility, and passenger transport. This includes the preparation, publication, and selection of projects based on public tenders, public calls for proposals, and other methods of funding allocation, as well as the administration of projects and contracts with beneficiaries to which funds were allocated.

In addition, our Office participates also in the preparation of programming and systemic frameworks for the use of funds from European and national development programs, while also monitoring, evaluating, and preparing materials related to implementation of judicial and audit proceedings, and collaborating with other stakeholders in designing measures for green transition and complementary measures.

Our key objectives are to increase the share of renewable energy sources (solar, wood biomass, wind), promoting more efficient energy use (energy-efficient building retrofits, smart systems, prevention of energy poverty), and reducing CO2 emissions in transportation by promoting more sustainable forms of mobility (public transit, cycling infrastructure, integrated transportation planning, electric vehicle charging stations).
