The Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy is responsible for the comprehensive development and operation of the country's transport and energy systems. In the field of transport, we plan, maintain, regulate, and improve railway, road, air, cableway, and maritime infrastructure, as well as navigation on inland waterways. We place special emphasis on transport safety and on ensuring modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly transportation.

We ensure a reliable and efficient energy supply and implement modern energy policies with a strong focus on accelerating the increase in the share of clean energy sources. These are essential for reducing environmental impacts, enhancing energy independence, and mitigating climate change.

An important part of our responsibilities also includes the development of public passenger transport, the promotion of sustainable mobility, and the formulation of transport policies that support the successful reduction of Slovenian society’s dependence on imported fossil energy sources.
