The Disabled, War Veterans and Victims of War Directorate
The Disabled, War Veterans and Victims of War Directorate participates in the drafting of laws and regulations that have a major impact on the status of disabled people in society, monitors the implementation of the national programmes of disability protection, social assistance, employment, etc. The Directorate produces analyses, reports, instructions, expert opinions and other materials associated with disability. It also performs and coordinates the disability protection tasks within the Ministry.
Among other things, the Directorate carries out the expert and administrative tasks for the Council for Persons with Disabilites of the Republic of Slovenia.
It is responsible for the systemic regulation of the issues associated with war disabled, war veterans and victims of war. The tasks covered include assistance to societies that have been awarded the status of associations operating in the public interest by the Ministry. These tasks are formulated pursuant to the regulations applicable in this area of work.
The Directorate is responsible for coordination and cooperation in the drafting of international regulations and other acts relating to the protection of war grave sites and with the drawing up of expert opinions, instructions and answers concerning such sites. It carries out the required procedures, draws up contracts for all types of war grave site maintenance and manages the register of war grave sites.
