    State Secretary Marko Štucin held consultations in Oslo with State Secretary at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Eivind Vad Petersson. Alongside bilateral relations, the talks also focused on current European and international issues.

    State Secretary Marko Štucin held bilateral consultations in Copenhagen with the State Secretary for European Affairs and the Arctic of the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Carsten Grønbech-Jensen. He also held consultations with the Head of the EU Division at Prime Minister’s Office, Ida Hannibal, and the Chairman of the European Affairs Committee in the Danish parliament, Niels Flemming Hansen.

    On 31 March 2022, Drago Jančar presented his novel "I Saw Her That Night" to the Norwegian audience at the Norli Library in Oslo, titled "Jeg så henne den natten" in Norwegian.

  • Minister Dr Logar with Norwegian Foreign Minister Huitfeldt on opportunities for strengthened cooperation

    On the invitation of Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs Anniken Huitfeldt, Minister Dr Anže Logar is paying an official visit to the Kingdom of Norway. Cooperation between Slovenia and Norway is excellent, and the ministers discussed opportunities for further widening and strengthening mutual collaboration.

  • Launching event of the EEA and Norway Grants

    Today Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, the National Focal Point, officially launched the implementation of the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 in Slovenia. The online event Working together for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe was attended by around 300 participants with opening addresses delivered by State Secretary mag. Monika Kirbiš Rojs and Ambassador of Norway H.E. Trine Skymoen. After the launching event the applicant workshop provided the potential applicants with an overview of the calls for proposals under the programmes Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation and Education – Enhancing Human Capital.

  • The USA, Slovenia and 12 other countries express concerns regarding the report on the origins of the novel coronavirus

    14 countries issued a joint statement expressing concerns regarding the recent WHO-convened study in China, while at the same time reinforcing the importance of working together toward the development and use of a swift, effective, transparent, science-based, and independent process for international evaluations of such outbreaks of unknown origin in the future. The signatories also underscore the need for a robust, comprehensive, and expert-led mechanism for expeditiously investigating outbreaks of unknown origin that is conducted with full and open collaboration among all stakeholders and in accordance with the principles of transparency, respect for privacy, and scientific and research integrity.

  • Minister Logar holds talks with his Norwegian counterpart Eriksen Søreide

    In today’s audio-video conversation with Norwegian Foreign Minister Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide, Foreign Minister Dr Anže Logar stressed excellent bilateral relations and underlined Slovenia’s interest in further deepening economic cooperation with Norway, with both ministers noting that their countries share a number of positions relating to European and multilateral topics.

  • The Fourth Review Conference of the Ottawa Convention in Oslo

    Special Envoy of the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Andrej Benedejčič attended the Fourth Review Conference of the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on their Destruction (Ottawa Convention), held in Oslo between 25 and 29 November 2019.

  • Minister Pivec on a state visit to Norway

    The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Food Dr Aleksandra Pivec joined the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, on his state visit to Norway. The visit, hosted by King Harald V of Norway, covered numerous events and meetings attended, among others, by Norway's Prime Minister and President of Parliament. One event that received a lot of attention focused on the promotion of beekeeping and the role of pollinators in sustainable food processing, at which Minister Pivec was one of the speakers. On the occasion, President Pahor gifted the King of Norway a Slovenian beehive with painted panels.

  • Foreign Minister Dr Cerar and his Norwegian counterpart Eriksen Søreide address cooperation on the circular economy, sustainable mobility and AI

    On the margins of the presidential official visit to Oslo, Minister Dr Cerar met the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Norway Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide. The ministers expressed their satisfaction regarding the excellent relations in various fields, especially at the multilateral level, and pleaded for enhanced cooperation on the circular economy, sustainable mobility and AI.

  • Slovenia-Norway political consultations between directors-general for EU affairs

    Acting Director-General for EU Affairs, Ambassador Barbara Sušnik, took part in bilateral consultations in Norway today. She and her counterpart, Director General of the Department for European Affairs Niels Engelschiøn, exchanged views on topical bilateral, European and international issues.
