The excellent relations are confirmed by visits at the highest level – the official visit of the President of the Republic of Slovenia to Norway in November 2019 and the working visit of the Norwegian Foreign Minister to Ljubljana in April 2019.

The ministers reviewed economic cooperation and expressed interest in strengthening ties. They went on to address the measures to offset the crisis once the Covid-19 pandemic has passed. Minister Logar informed his Norwegian counterpart of Slovenia’s preparations for the EU Council Presidency. They confirmed that the two countries cooperate successfully within the EEA and Norway Grants. Although Norway is not an EU Member State, it is a vital and reliable partner of the Union. Both countries strive for a safe, united and strong EU, which guarantees internal, economic, and social security.

Also concerning security issues, the two countries share similar views and support the unity of NATO. Finally, the ministers underscored the importance of Euro-Atlantic solidarity in the time of the Covid-19 pandemic.
