The Labour Migration Division is responsible for the employment, self-employment and work of foreign nationals, the transnational posting of workers and the coordination of social security systems.

The Labour Migration Division drafts proposals for legislative acts and implementing regulations relating to the employment and work of foreign nationals in Slovenia, monitors the implementation of regulations, and participates in the drafting of EU legislative proposals relating to the free movement of labour and services and the entry, residence and employment of third-country nationals. Its representatives also participate in the Advisory Committee on Free Movement of Workers, the Technical Committee on Free Movement of Workers, the Committee of Experts on Posting of Workers and the EU Council working groups on migration.
