Slovenia Weekly: Same passion

After her first meeting with the new Slovenian Prime Minister, the President of the European Commission wrote that they both share the same passion and that is Europe. Prime Minister Robert Golob is currently in Brussels on his first visit to the European institutions after taking office, and there he has met the President of the European Commission and the President of the European Council. The central topics of discussions are the war in Ukraine, the increase in energy and food prices, and the European Green Deal. The key message of the Slovenian Prime Minister upon his first visit to the European institutions after taking office: Europe comes first for us. Slovenia has always been a country of the core European Union and it will remain so.

On Slovenian roads, we have again welcomed some of the best cyclists in the world, including the world number one, Tadej Pogačar, and number six in the UCI ranking, Matej Mohorič. A total of 21 teams and 144 cyclists attended the Tour of Slovenia. We are about to enjoy a five-day treat, a tour with the stars of the cycling world, including four of the highest ranking teams.

This is one of the most beautiful tours in the world, said Tadej Pogačar, the best cyclist in the world, ahead of the tour. Millions of viewers, watching the tour on the Eurosport channel, will be able to see this for themselves. More than 66 attractions of 39 destinations participating in this year’s tour will be featured during the 10-hour broadcast of the tour on Eurosport. A special emphasis will be placed on sustainable and responsible conduct, which further enhances the already recognisable slogan of the tour, "Fight for Green", and thus our central commitment to sustainability.
