Božena Forštnarič Boroje
Ambassador Božena Forštnarič Boroje holds the position of Permanent Representative of the Republic of Slovenia to the United Nations Office and other International Organisations in Geneva.
Prior to her current appointment, she served as Director-General for Multilateral Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs between 2023 and 2026. From 2018 to 2022, she held the position of Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia to Poland, with non-resident accreditations covering Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania.
Ambassador Forštnarič Boroje began her diplomatic carrier at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2004, where she headed the International Organizations Department (2022-2023), the Human Rights Department (2015-2018), the International Law Department (2015). She also served as Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Ankara (2012-2015) and Canberra (2005-2009). Before joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, she worked at the Office of the Prime Minister (2003-2004) and the Ministry of Labour, Family and Social Affairs (1999-2002).
