194th regular session of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia
At today’s session, the Government adopted the Strategy for the Management and Development of Healthcare and Allied Professionals in the Healthcare System 2026–2036, agreed to an extraordinary adjustment of pensions of one per cent and issued two ordinances: the Ordinance on financial assistance to family farms following the transfer of agricultural holdings, and the Ordinance on the co-financing of vaccination against bluetongue disease.

Maritime Day 2026 - Highlights
We celebrated the Slovenian Maritime Day 2026 on Friday, March 6 2026, with the event "The Pulse of the Sea." The event took place at the new Koper Passenger Terminal, where the attendees were addressed by the Minister of Infrastructure, Alenka Bratušek, M.A., the Chairwoman of the Management Board of Luka Koper, Nevenka Kržan, and the Director of the Maritime Administration, Jadran Klinec.

Information for citizens stranded abroad due to the situation in the Middle East
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs continues to provide consular assistance to Slovenian citizens. Those who are unable to return from otherwise safe destinations due to air traffic disruption in the Middle East are advised to seek alternative routes home with the assistance of their airline ticket providers.

Slovenian diplomatic staff safely evacuated from Iran
The Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs has withdrawn its two diplomatic staff members from Tehran, capital of Iran. The ambassador and a diplomat are now safe in Azerbaijan, from where they will be returning to Slovenia.

Evacuation by charter flights from the Middle East is coming to an end, but the MFEA remains available to assist Slovenian citizens
We would like to inform Slovenian citizens who are currently stranded in the Middle East and the Gulf that airspace is gradually reopening. Consequently, an increasing number of commercial flights are available for those wishing to return home. However, the Ministry remains available to provide consular assistance.

Agreement enables state of the art searches for Slovenian patent applicants
A new Cooperation Agreement between the Visegrad Patent Institute and the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office on Search Cooperation has been signed. The Agreement enables patent applicants in Slovenia to obtain a search report accompanied by a written opinion for national patent applications, in accordance with the standards applied under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT).

Natural heritage in Slovenia is recognised, protected and professionally managed

European Commission issues positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request
Today, the European Commission issued a positive preliminary assessment of Slovenia’s fifth payment request for funding under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) of NextGenerationEU. Slovenia is expected to receive the payment next month, estimated at €230 million. Following the disbursement, the utilisation of the funds available to Slovenia under the Facility will exceed 80%.
