A drone did not cross the path of the Slovenian evacuation aircraft

The claim, cited by some Croatian and Slovenian media outlets, that a US military drone crossed the path of an aircraft carrying evacuated Slovenian citizens on its way from Oman back to Slovenia is not true.

A charter aircraft carrying the first group of evacuated Slovenian citizens from the crisis area in the Middle East departed from Muscat Airport in Oman bound for Slovenia. After the aircraft was already in the air, some media outlets reported that it had been intercepted by a US Navy drone while still in Omani airspace, allegedly forcing the aircraft to make an emergency landing in Jordan and causing an additional delay in its return home.

The claim was false. The Slovenian Government denied it during a media briefing on the same day.
