Government proposes amendments to Higher Vocational Education Act

The Government has agreed on the text of the proposed Act Amending the Higher Vocational Education Act and submitted it to the National Assembly for consideration under the shortened procedure. The main objective of the proposed act is to transfer applications for higher vocational programmes to the eVŠ online portal. This will make applications for enrolment uniform for all tertiary education and the application procedure for higher vocational programmes even easier for users. The proposed amendment supports the goal of providing as many electronic services as possible on one website to make it easier for users to find them.

Government adopts Medium-Term Defence Programme of the Republic of Slovenia 2023–2028

Based on the new Resolution on the Long-Term Programme for the Development and Equipment of the Slovenian Armed Forces until 2040, the Government adopted the Medium-Term Defence Programme of the Republic of Slovenia 2023–2028, which sets priorities for the development of the defence system and the modernisation of the Slovenian Armed Forces in the medium term. The programme is focused on development and investment. It envisages an accelerated timeline for building priority capacities and one of the largest investment cycles in the modernisation of the Slovenian Armed Forces, with the aim of narrowing the development gap created in the last decade, including the Slovenian defence industry and research and development institutions in the establishment of capacities and ensuring a higher level of self-sufficiency of Slovenia’s defence system.
