The defence ministries of both states are to sign an agreement regarding the training.

At the Evgen Kvaternik training range in Slunj, the Slovenian Armed Forces field firing training will be carried out, during which the skills of the artillery platoon, envisaged to participate in the Enhanced Forward Presence (ePF) international operation, will be tested. A platoon of up to 60 soldiers will cooperate in the training with all elements, namely artillery scouts, the meteorological service, the fire control and relay squad.

The government adopted a separate decision on the inclusion of the aforementioned training in the Plan of Exercises in the Defence System and the Protection System against Natural and Other Disasters in 2023. It was familiarised with the Information on the intended signing of the Agreement on Training Support concluded between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Slovenia and the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Croatia at the Slovenian Armed Forces field firing training HOWITZER 2023 on the territory of the Republic of Croatia. The agreement covers standard provisions regarding the rights and obligations of the participants.
