Government reallocates spending rights in the budget

At today’s session of the Committee on Economy, the government of the Republic of Slovenia reallocated funds amounting to approximately EUR 48 million from the general budgetary provisioning to the financial plan of the Ministry of Infrastructure for the financing of price increases. The funds will be used to compensate electricity and gas suppliers.

In addition, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Food is reallocating funds totalling around EUR 10.8 million as part of its financial plan. The funds will be used to compensate eligible persons for the high costs of apple and pear production, to provide exceptional temporary support to farmers and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, and to provide a financial incentive for the culling of feral pigs.

Government confirms response to the initiative by the Councillor of State

Today the Committee for State Regulation and Public Affairs endorsed the Government’s response to the initiative by Councillor of State Bojan Borovnik designed to ensure that the Project-Based Learning for Young Adults programme will continue to be funded through the State budget during the transition from the old to the new Financial Perspective.

The Project-Based Learning for Young Adults programme was created as a modification and adaptation of the Project-Based Learning for Young People programme, which was funded by the Ministry of Education from the European Structural Funds until the end of the Financial Perspective. The programme was then taken over by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities (MDDSZ), as the Project-Based Learning for Young Adults programme is not a publicly recognized programme within the scope of the Ministry of Education, but a support activity that equips participants with the competences to enter the labour market. Therefore, the Project-Based Learning for Young Adults programme is not suitable for acceptance as a publicly recognized programme for adults.

The Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs, and Equal Opportunities cooperates with the Employment Service of the Republic of Slovenia in the implementation of the programme, which is important for various groups, and MDDSZ is therefore committed to securing as much funding as possible from the budget. As the new Financial Perspective is approaching, a new application for the programme will also be needed, but the application and information systems are not yet in place. However, the MDDSZ is taking all necessary measures to keep the interruption of the programme implementation as short as possible, and it is expected to be no longer than two months.
