At today’s session, the Government appointed several state secretaries at the newly established ministries.

Amendments to decisions on the establishment, tasks and organisation of governmental committees and the Commission for Administrative Affairs and Appointments

At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the Decision amending the Decision on the establishment, tasks and organisation of the Government Committee on State Organisation and Public Affairs, the Decision amending the Decision on the establishment, tasks and organisation of the Government Committee on the Economy, and the Decision amending the Decision on the establishment, tasks and organisation of the Government Commission for Administrative Affairs and Appointments. By means of the decisions, the memberships in committees and the commission are changing due to the government reorganisation.

The Government appoints a new state secretary and an acting secretary general at the Ministry of Infrastructure

The Government appointed mag. Andrej Rajh as the new state secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

As of 25 January 2023, the Government appointed Tanja Šarabon as the Acting Secretary General at the Ministry of Infrastructure until the appointment of a new secretary general following the competition procedure, but for no longer than six months or until 24 July 2023.

At the same time, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued declaratory decisions about the cessation of current functions of mag. Alenka Bratušek as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure, mag. Tina Seršen as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Infrastructure, and mag. Teja Božovič Holc as the Secretary General at the Ministry of Infrastructure.

Appointment of mag. Matej Skočir as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning

The Government appointed mag. Matej Skočir as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Spatial Planning. The functions of mag. Matej Skočir and Uroš Vajgl as state secretaries at the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning ceased as of today.

Mag. Matej Skočir holds a master’s degree in international economics and a bachelor’s degree in political sciences with a focus on international relations. Prior to today’s appointment, Skočir was the Head of the Investment and Internationalisation Promotion Division at the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology.

The Government issues decisions on appointments at the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy

The Government issued the decision appointing mag. Tina Seršen and Uroš Vajgl as state secretaries at the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy as of 25 January 2023. The Government also issued the decision appointing mag. Teja Božovič Holc as the Acting Secretary General at the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy on the same day until the full appointment following the competition procedure, but for no longer than six months or until 24 July 2023.

The Government appoints new state secretaries and an acting secretary general at the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future

The Government appointed two new state secretaries at the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future, i.e. Klemen Ploštajner, who will be responsible for the field of housing policy and Dr Luka Omladič, who will be responsible for the field of long-term care.

As of 25 January 2023, the Government appointed Andrej Vrhunc as the Acting Secretary General at the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future until the appointment of a new secretary general following the competition procedure, but for no longer than six months or until 24 July 2023.

At the same time, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued a declaratory decision about the cessation of the current function of Simon Maljevac, State Secretary at the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities.

The Government appoints two new state secretaries and an acting secretary general at the Ministry of Education

The Government appointed Dr Boris Černilec and Jasna Rojc as state secretaries at the Ministry of Education.

As of 25 January 2023, the Government appointed Bruno Rednak as the Acting Secretary General at the Ministry of Education until the appointment of a new secretary general following the competition procedure, but for no longer than six months or until 24 July 2023.

At the same time, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia issued declaratory decisions about the cessation of current functions of Dr Darja Felde and Matjaž Krajnc, both state secretaries at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Rebeka Koncilja Žgalin, Secretary General at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, Dr Boris Černilec, Director General of the Preschool and Basic Education Directorate, and Jasna Rojc, Director General of the Upper Secondary, Short-Cycle Higher Vocational and Adult Education Directorate at the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport.

The Government appoints mag. Valerija Jelen Kosi as the State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice

The Government dismissed Dr Sebastjan Zbičajnik from the function of the State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice as of 31 January 2023 and appointed mag. Valerija Jelen Kosi to this position as of 1 February 2023.

Jelen Kosi is a higher court judge at the Department of Economic Justice of Ljubljana Higher Court. She was appointed to the Supreme Court of the Republic of Slovenia to manage projects for improving the quality of Slovenian judiciary. In the past, she had already worked at the Ministry of Justice as the Director of the Judicial Training Centre.

Appointments at the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development

At today’s session, the Government appointed two state secretaries and the acting secretary general at the Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development (MKRR). Andreja Katič became a new state secretary, taking over the field of regional development. Current State Secretary Marko Koprivc, who has already been involved in the field of cohesion at the Government Office for Development and European Cohesion Policy, will continue his work at the new ministry. Simon Švarc was appointed the Acting Secretary General at the MKRR. The Government also gave its consent to the Act on temporary internal organisation and job classification at the MKRR.

Appointments at the Ministry of Digital Transformation

Based on today’s reorganisation, the Government upgraded the Government Office for Digital Transformation into the Ministry of Digital Transformation. At today’s session, the Government appointed Dr Aida Kamišalić Latifić and Dr Miroslav Kranjc as the new state secretaries. Mag. Ksenija Klampfer was appointed the Secretary General.

The Government appoints a new state secretary and an acting secretary general at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation

Dr Matjaž Kranjc was appointed a new state secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation.

As of 25 January 2023, the Government appointed Rebeka Koncilja Žgalin as the Acting Secretary General at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation until the appointment of a new secretary general following the competition procedure, but for no longer than six months or until 24 July 2023.

Appointment of state secretaries at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport

With the confirmation of the reorganisation of the Government, the name of the ministry of the economy is changing today, and from now on this ministry will also be responsible for sport. At the Minister’s proposal, the Government appointed current state secretaries at the former Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, Matevž Frangež and mag. Dejan Židan, as the state secretaries at the new Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport.

Consent to temporary job classifications

At today’s session, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia gave its consent to the Act on temporary internal organisation and job classification at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Act on temporary internal organisation and job classification at the Ministry of the Environment, Climate and Energy, and the Act on temporary internal organisation and job classification at the Ministry of Solidarity-Based Future.
