The interministerial working group for healthcare coordinated by Prime Minister Golob commences its work

Today, the interministerial working group for healthcare started its work, which is being coordinated directly by the Prime Minister, Dr Robert Golob.

The regulation of the health system is specifically one of the main priorities of the Prime Minister and the Government in the next two years. The group will operate following the model of the working group for mitigation of price increases, which has been intensively drafting and harmonising measures to overcome the high energy and food prices of the last six months on a weekly basis.

The working group consists of the ministers of health, finance and public administration, including key representatives of expert services and the Government Office for Digital Transformation. The group will prepare measures to regulate the health system that will enable accessible, high-quality and safe health services for Slovenian citizens at all levels of healthcare.

"Slovenian citizens deserve a functioning public health system, which is the foundation of a social state. At the same time, we have to be aware of the fact that we are an ageing society, which is why our needs are changing and the health system must comply with that. In the last 30 years, we have witnessed numerous discussions, anticipated reforms and semi-reforms. The present opportunity for a radical change is not ideal, but it is likely the only one left. We will seek a broad consensus for one of the most important reforms for this country and its citizens," highlights Prime Minister Golob.
