75th correspondence meeting of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

At today's correspondence meeting, the Government decided that the Ordinance on temporary measures in implementing compulsory health insurance to control and manage the COVID-19 epidemic would cease to be in force. It also adopted the consolidated balance sheet of the state and municipalities which in 2019 increased by 2.8% or EUR 1.36 billion.

At today's correspondence meeting, the Government issued the Ordinance repealing the Ordinance on temporary measures in implementing compulsory health insurance to control and manage the COVID-19 epidemic to be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia. With respect to sick leave, temporary absence from work, medical devices, medical transport and treatment at health resorts, decision-making will resume under the scheme in place before the COVID-19 epidemic.

The Government also adopted the consolidated balance sheet of the state and municipalities for 2019.  As of 31 December 2019, the balance sheet of the state and municipalities totalled EUR 49.83 billion, recording an increase of 2.80% or EUR 1.36 billion in 2019 compared to the balance sheet total as of 31 December 2018.

With the amendments to the Decree on the implementation of the “Cooperation Measure” pursuant to the Rural Development Programme of the Republic of Slovenia 2014–2020, the Government simplified the process for filing payment requests and eliminated some detected obstacles or restrictions in order to facilitate the implementation of cooperation projects, in particular support to beneficiaries in agriculture, forestry and rural development to overcome the consequences of the COVID-19 epidemic.   The proposed amendments will facilitate the implementation of projects, contribute to the attainment of the objectives set under submeasures, and accelerate the verification of payment requests, thus improving the liquidity of beneficiaries by speeding up the transfer of payments to cover their costs incurred in the implementation of projects.
