Directorate of Railways, Cableways and Traffic Management

The Directorate of Railways, Cableways and Traffic Management is responsible for adopting the state program for the development of public railway infrastructure and, on this basis, for the modernization of the railway corridors V and X.

The Directorate collaborates in drafting European Union legislation in the field of railway and cableway infrastructure and transposing it into legislation of the Republic of Slovenia. Additionally, it participates in the preparation of international agreements and engages with both international and national institutions in the field of railways and cableways. Furthermore, the Directorate performs administrative and general expert tasks related to the implementation of procedures for drawing European Union funds to co-finance railway projects, issuing authorisations to operators of cableway installations and ski slopes, granting concessions for the construction of cableway installations, and monitors the legal status of public railway infrastructure and land.
