The Directorate for Accessibility and Economy carries out tasks related to accessibility and economy. We work in a number of key areas, in line with the vision and objectives set out in the legislation. With our professional approach and accountability, we carry out tasks that have a significant impact on the functioning of the public health system.

We focus on carefully regulating and coordinating the financial aspects of compulsory health insurance, where is the key to ensure financial stability and the efficient functioning of the system. At the same time, we carry out analyses and prepare materials on the performance of public health institutions, which allow a thorough understanding of their operations and the identification of potential improvements.

We actively regulate and harmonise the operations of public health institutions, with the aim of ensuring a comprehensive and coherent public health system. In doing so, we provide the professional basis for agreements on programmes of services of compulsory health insurance, while actively participating in the preparation of key development and strategic documents that serve as a basis for guiding policies and decisions. We are committed to continuous service quality improvement, quality system implementation, risk management and monitoring of performance indicators.

We make effective decisions on access to public information, respond to questions from journalists and parliamentarians, and play an active role in administrative, systemic and public oversight. We also cooperate and coordinate in the context of pre-litigation and preliminary proceedings of EU bodies and manage the most complex administrative procedures. We closely monitor and coordinate providers' risk management plans in crisis situations, actively participate in the drafting of regulations, and collect and analyse economic and financial data for decision-making and health policy formulation. We also prepare the substantive basis for regulations and participate in the assessment of the financial implications for public finances in the health regulatory process.
