Dr Sebastjan Jeretič, born in Koper, holds a doctorate in political science from the Faculty of Social Sciences in Ljubljana. The topic of his doctoral dissertation was the Context of Voters' Decisions. He has thirty years of experience in strategic communication and election campaigns. As a political analyst, he has commented on topical political developments in the media and on podcasts.

His research focuses on the psychology of communication and the psychology of decision-making, drawing on findings from contemporary cognitive science and neuroscience. As an assistant professor, he was responsible for several subjects at the School of Advanced Social Studies in Nova Gorica. In his teaching, he combined theory with practical experience, presenting political communication in a comprehensive manner through the integration of philosophy, history, psychology, sociology and political science.

He served two terms as municipal councillor in the Municipality of Piran between 1998 and 2006. From 2001 to 2006, he was a member of the Management Board of the public utility company Okolje Piran. From 2006 to 2008, he served as Head of Public Relations for the Social Democrats, after which he founded his own strategic communications consultancy, Neurovirtu d.o.o., providing consultancy services to both domestic and international clients.

Over the past fifteen years, he has worked with various public institutions and companies and served as an adviser in the Office of the Mayor of the City Municipality of Koper and in the Office of the Minister of Economic Development and Technology. As a strategic consultant, he participated in election campaigns at various levels, ranging from local to parliamentary and presidential elections in Slovenia, Serbia, Montenegro and Croatia.

Throughout his career, he has gained an insight into political processes at different levels, both as a political decision-maker and an adviser. In line with contemporary communication trends, he advocates, as a democrat, direct communication between the state and its citizens and empowering citizens to effectively monitor public affairs and make informed decisions about them.
