The national archives received the decoration for its exceptional importance in preserving cultural heritage and managing the archival public service. The award is a confirmation of our mission and belongs to all generations of archivists who care for our national memory.

  • The Archivalia of the Month section features the Archivalia of the month of December, which which discusses the first "democratic" elections for the constituent assembly in "New Yugoslavia" on November 11, 1945. Voter turnout in Slovenia was approximately 92%, and around 85% of voters officially cast their ballot for the People's Front, or in favor of the republic.reality.

    The Archives of the Republic of Slovenia reached the pinnacle of its anniversary celebrations with a special commemorative ceremony, held to mark its 80 years of operation as an independent institution. The event took place at the National Gallery in Ljubljana.

    Under the honorary patronage of the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Dr. Nataša Pirc Musar, this formal ceremony emphasized the archives vital and irreplaceable role in safeguarding Slovenia's cultural heritage for future generations.

    The Archivalia of the Month section features the Archivalia of the month of November, a which presents an interesting yet always relevant question about the level of salary and relationships between colleagues. The story takes us to the end of the 19th century and introduces the troubles of the 'provincial' archivist Anton Koblar in his struggle for fair pay, raising the question of how much the care for cultural heritage is worth in reality.
