Slovenia Weekly: Successful presentation of creativity

Slovenia's presentation at the Bologna Children's Book Fair was a success and was praised by many. Slovenia being the Guest of Honour only six months after the same position in Frankfurt contributed greatly to its visibility. As Guest of Honour, Slovenia had a unique opportunity to showcase its creative talents, publishers, authors and illustrators at one of the world's leading platforms for children's and youth literature. Visitors to the four-day fair could hardly miss the Slovenian illustration exhibition. It was set up right next to the entrance and displayed a selection of illustrations, their authors and publishers.

In the last issue of Slovenia Weekly, we also report on the Prime Minister's visit to Sneberje, where he saw the state of the levee and the progress made on the houses damaged by last August’s floods. He said that with the current temporary measures in place, residents can feel safe: "When cooperation between the local community, the municipality and the State is good, the residents are also satisfied with the decisions." The Government will approve the recovery plan in May, he said. This plan is aimed at building a more resilient water and road infrastructure and bridges over the next five years. He stressed its importance for increasing resilience to potential natural disasters.
