Last week we finally entered the proper summer: the first heat wave is behind us, as is the first week of school holidays. However, economic and political life in Slovenia is still quite lively.

Slovenia is strengthening political and economic relations with South Korea with a strong business delegation. The Prime Minister is attending the European Council and in his doorstep statement yesterday he stressed that a lasting peace in Ukraine is one of the conditions for the start of talks on NATO membership. He also said that local elections in northern Kosovo should be held again as soon as possible, with the participation of Kosovo Serbs, and announced the revival of the proposal for a Frontex unit on the Croatian-BiH border.

Meanwhile, Slovenia is buzzing with cultural and sporting summer events for the young and the young at heart. And, as you will read, we are also approaching one of next month's highlights: OFEM Maribor 2023.
