Slovenia Weekly: Support and assistance

The Prime Minister was in Bosnia and Herzegovina on his first official bilateral visit abroad since taking office in June last year. Bosnia and Herzegovina has pledged to continue on its path towards the EU, while Slovenia has pledged to provide all possible support. "Slovenia wants to be not only a friend on this path, but also the biggest ally, which is why we will provide BiH with all possible help to seize this historic opportunity, from expert assistance to financial resources," the Prime Minister said.

Slovenia continues its support for Ukraine, this time helping those most vulnerable to the war – children and young people – to attend school safely in this difficult situation. To this end, it has donated two buses for Ukrainian schoolchildren. Last year, Slovenia provided EUR 29.4 million in aid to Ukraine, including EUR 5.5 million in humanitarian aid.

The Government also continues the discussion on important systemic changes that it wants to implement during this term of office. Slovenia needs a new social agreement that will provide the answer to the questions of burden sharing in the light of the new needs of society. This week's discussions have therefore focused on the starting points for changes in the tax and education systems.
