Slovenia Weekly: On the right track

Slovenia will not be prolonging the epidemic next week, as the epidemiological situation is relatively favourable and the pace of vaccination is intensive, the Minister of Health said today. Measures remain in place. In addition to the VTR (vaccine/test/recovery), these include the wearing of masks, hand disinfection, and social distancing. Life will thus slowly return to normal.

A part of this 'normal life' will be felt in the following days when a true cycling holiday is expected to take over Slovenia. This weekend, Slovenia will host a cycling celebration, bringing together amateur and professional cyclists. The biggest amateur cycling event in the country, the 40th Franja Marathon, will be held on Saturday and Sunday. The Sunday programme of the Franja Marathon will also coincide with the last stage of the Tour of Slovenia, which has been place around Slovenia since Wednesday under the motto “Fight for the Green”. To the delight of the crowds of fans providing an unforgettable backdrop to the race, current third in the UCI World Ranking Tadej Pogačar is also among the competitors.

If you’re going on a weekend getaway to Slovenia, don’t forget your bike!
