Slovenia Weekly: Winners even after the crisis

Due to the measures that have been adopted so far, Prime Minister Janez Janša believes that Slovenia finds itself in a good position to fight the negative consequences of the epidemic and to successfully enter the fourth industrial revolution. The Government is striving to preserve the development potential of the economy, said the Prime Minister at the Slovenian Economy Summit.

He said that Slovenia had managed to negotiate EUR 10.5 billion in the multi-annual financial framework and recovery package, of which EUR 6.5 billion are grants. “This is the highest amount of funds that Slovenia has managed to negotiate for additional development in its history,” he said.

Our country therefore has the funds available for research, development, innovation, digitalisation, education and training for professions of tomorrow. “We have a sufficient amount of funds available to be the winners even after the crisis,” said Mr Janša. “Winners even after the crisis” is also the title of the Slovenian Economy Summit, which was organised in a virtual environment.

Slovenia remains a stable and trustworthy country. He said that the Government, which is working on successfully overcoming the epidemic as soon as possible, is also making considerable effort to preserve the development potential of the Slovenian economy and Slovenians in general.
