Slovenia Weekly: Slovenia: safe, successful, and world-renowned

With its new objectives and an innovative vision, Slovenia strives to obtain its position on the international map once again. Moreover, as a reliable partner of the European Union and a credible member of international organisations, it knows how to pursue its interests, announced Slovenian Foreign Minister Logar, who strives for a more confident and active Slovenian foreign policy, with an emphasis on strengthened transatlantic relations and integration with the countries of Central Europe, in his presentation this week. The guiding principle and clear starting point for the work of our diplomats is captured in the title of the strategy on foreign policy: "Slovenia: safe, successful, and world-renowned".

This orientation is reflected in numerous activities carried out by the Ministry in the last six months, when Slovenia hosted as many as 12 foreign ministers. Moreover, an active foreign policy is also reflected in the visit of the Chancellor of Austria, who has chosen Slovenia for the first bilateral meeting abroad after 25 February, or the outbreak of the new coronavirus pandemic. Sebastian Kurz considered the visit to be a sign of a special relationship between the two countries, and highlighted that, despite some differences in positions, the relations between the two countries mainly involve interconnecting elements.
