Slovenia Weekly: Mobile App for a Safer Future

The #OstaniZdrav mobile application, developed to help every citizen to contain the spread of the new coronavirus, was launched at the beginning of this week. The #OstaniZdrav application, which has been available to Android users since Monday, has already been downloaded by 18,000 Slovenians.

The application has been designed to help prevent the spread of the new coronavirus, notify the user about any contact with people infected with covid-19, help to immediately isolate potentially infected people from others, relieve the workload of the epidemiological service by detecting contacts and contribute to reducing restrictive measures in society. Health is our greatest wealth. Thus, the Minister of Public Administration, Boštjan Koritnik, who presented the new application, has asked for as many people as possible to start using the application.

The fact that this is a new strategy in encountering pandemics, in which mobile applications will play an important role in the future, should not be neglected. Thus, the current introduction of the application is also an important learning process for the future.
