Today, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Tanja Fajon met with three representatives of the Mothers of Srebrenica movement, who are being hosted by the President of the Republic, Nataša Pirc Musar, on their visit to Slovenia. The purpose of the meeting was to reiterate Slovenia's support for the movement and the memory of the Srebrenica genocide in light of this year's 30th anniversary, which will be commemorated on 11 July.

Marking the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement
On the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, we remember one of the most important milestones in modern European history. The Agreement brought peace to Bosnia and Herzegovina and stability to the entire region. The diplomatic victory over war put an end to the immeasurable suffering endured by the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

State Secretary Grašič at the 14th EUSDR foreign ministers' meeting
State Secretary Neva Grašič attended the 14th annual meeting of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) foreign ministers in Sarajevo. The meeting focused on bringing the Western Balkan countries closer to the EU. This priority was at the top of the agenda already during Slovenia's 2023 EUSDR Presidency.

On the 30th anniversary of the Srebrenica genocide, we call for peace and respect for the victims
Today, we are observing the International Day of Reflection and Commemoration of the 1995 Genocide in Srebrenica. It is a day when we remember the 8,372 victims, and when the wounds of the mothers of Srebrenica and other survivors who lost their loved ones —husbands, sons and brothers — are reopened. Our thoughts are with them in their grief and deep sorrow.
