Introducing more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of persons with disabilities in sheltered companies and employment centres
Based on the Public tender for sheltered workshops and employment centres with consultants for the introduction of more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of people, 37 projects were implemented in sheltered workshops and employment centres with disabilities by 31 March 2025. The public tender supported the preparation of plans for developing new business models according to the needs of individual sheltered workshops or employment centres (optimisation of operations, updating internal documents, work process adaptation plan, etc.), by taking into account the changing business environment, the introduction of changes in new technologies and the introduction of more flexible ways of work. The public tender also supported the inclusion of people with disabilities in training to improve their skills so that they could benefit from flexible forms of work.
Based on the public contract for the "Evaluation of the results of the public tender for sheltered workshops and employment centres by consultants for introducing more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of disabled people", an evaluation of the public tender was performed by 30 June 2026. Examples of good practice were also prepared as part of the public procurement process.
Based on the public contract for preparing video materials as part of a RRP measure entitled "Introducing more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of people with disabilities employed in sheltered workshops and employment centres for people with disabilities" to be published on the website of the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, video materials on the subject of disability policy were prepared by 30 June 2026.
As part of the project "Introducing more flexible ways of working, adapted to the needs of people with disabilities, in sheltered workshops and employment centres for people with disabilities", easy read materials based on the public contract for the "Preparation, design and printing of easy to read content in the area of disability policy and other content topics of the MDDSZ were prepared by 31 August 2026. Under this public contract, four laws were translated into easy to read format (the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities Act, the Employment Relationships Act, the Equalisation of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act, and the Accessibility of Products and Services for Persons with Disabilities Act), the Guide to Social Rights, the Brochure on Violence, and the Brochure on Parental Care.
As part of the measure, on 23 November 2023, the first national conference was organised by the Ministry on the publication of the Public tender for sheltered workshops and employment centres and Employment Centres with Consultants for the Introduction of More Flexible Working Methods Adapted to the Needs of Disabled People. On 15 May 2026, a national conference was organised upon the completion of the measure, where the evaluation of the public tender was also presented.
The value of the entire measure is EUR 2,264,950.14, with the project being financed from the European Union Recovery and Resilience Mechanism and the budget of the Republic of Slovenia (VAT payment).
