The Ministry organised two national conferences as part of the measure Introducing more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of people with disabilities in sheltered workshops and employment centres for people with disabilities.

The first national conference was held on 23 November 2023 at the Crystal Palace in BTC. The purpose of this national conference was familiarisation with the published call for tenders for sheltered workshops and employment centres with consultants for the introduction of more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of people with disabilities. The Ministry organised this national conference with a view to bringing the call for tenders closer to all potential applicants – both sheltered workshops and employment centres, as well as their potential project partners.

The second national conference was held on the completion of the implementation of the measure on 15 May 2026 at the Brdo Congress Centre at Brdo pri Kranju. The purpose of this national conference was the presentation of independent evaluation of the results of the public tender for sheltered workshops and employment centres with consultants for the introduction of more flexible working methods adapted to the needs of people with disabilities.

Moreover, in 2026 Slovenia marks the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Training and Employment of Disabled People Act, which set the direction for the development of training and professional support for disabled people in employment, as well as the 20th anniversary of the quota system established under the Employment Rehabilitation and Employment of Disabled People Act.

The topic of the second national conference was employment of people with disabilities. The current system in the Republic of Slovenia is a model example for many European countries.
