Slovenia ensures the development of a high-quality public healthcare system which is accessible to all and is based on universality, solidarity, equality, fair financing, and safety of healthcare. In order to improve the health and well-being of the population and reduce inequalities in health, we adopt and implement measures to promote and protect health, prevent diseases, and improve the health literacy of the people of Slovenia. We strive to increase healthcare capabilities in accordance with people’s needs and, therefore, to achieve better accessibility to high-quality healthcare for all and better working conditions for those employed in healthcare. Furthermore, by providing greater solidarity in terms of the burdening of insured persons with contributions and maintaining existing rights, we endeavour to ensure financial sustainability of health insurance.
