    Lake Bled, an idyllic lake with an island in the north-west of Slovenia, has made the list of 25 of the most beautiful places in the world published by CNN Travel last week, alongside destinations like the Svalbard Islands in Norway and the UK’s Lake District.

  • The countdown to a historic sporting event for Slovenia

    From 21 February to 5 March, Planica will be the centre of winter sport and the venue for the biggest sporting event in the history of the Republic of Slovenia, the Planica 2023 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships. Nordic skiers will compete for titles in ski jumping, cross-country skiing and combined skiing in the valley in the shadow of the Ponce mountain chain. The organisers promise an unprecedented sporting spectacle.

  • The European Commission is satisfied with the progress in the field of the rule of law in Slovenia

    The European Commission confirmed that a lot had been done in Slovenia in the last six months relating to the rule of law, said the State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Marko Štucin, following the meeting of the General Affairs Council in Brussels. A great amount of work was still ahead, but we would make further efforts to continue the reforms, he added.
