Slovenian Development Days on key role of business in development cooperation

The 13th Slovenian Development Days will take place on 14–17 October under the title “Business in Support of Global Solidarity”. Today’s global challenges, including the consequences of armed conflicts, climate change and the energy crisis, call for innovative and comprehensive approaches. In this context, cooperation between the public sector, the business community and NGOs is vital to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Slovenian Development Days

This year’s Slovenian Development Days will focus on the crucial role of business in development cooperation and humanitarian aid. In light of the growing number of humanitarian and development challenges, the active involvement of the business sector and private stakeholders is key to securing sustainable financing and bridging future development gaps. Such cooperation holds significant potential for fostering innovation, creating jobs, strengthening local markets and supporting long-term economic growth.

As part of the 13th Slovenian Development Days, the Ministry plans to organise a high-level international conference and workshops for business representatives, showcasing best practice examples at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. Additional awareness-raising and practical events will highlight the active contribution of the private sector to Slovenia’s development and humanitarian efforts.

The Ministry cordially invites business representatives, the private and public sectors, policy makers, implementing partners in development cooperation and humanitarian aid, as well as experts and the interested public, to attend.
