The consultations were chaired by Slobodan Šešum, Director-General for Economic and Public Diplomacy, and Dejan Vuković, Acting General Director of the General Directorate for Economic and Cultural Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro.

The counterparts discussed the current bilateral economic relations between their respective countries, focusing on opportunities to strengthen and rebalance trade in goods and services, and to promote foreign direct investment. Their talks concentrated on digitalisation and green transition, renewable energy and tourism. They agreed that the next bilateral economic consultations at Director-General level will be hosted by Slovenia.

Slovenia already enjoys excellent cooperation with Montenegro in a number of areas. It is also ready to share its knowledge, experience and best practices with Montenegro, also in the context of its EU accession.
