Minister Fajon outlined Slovenia's efforts towards an immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza and diplomatic efforts that would lead to a two-state solution. She stressed the need to ensure sufficient and continuous humanitarian aid, recalling that Slovenia had recently delivered two shipments of aid to Jordan for the people in Gaza. Participants also discussed Slovenia's role as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council, where Slovenia was very active in the process of adopting UNSC Resolution 2728.

Minister Fajon also informed the participants of Slovenia's position on the recognition of Palestine. This will be done in cooperation with a group of EU member states when the contribution of recognition to the political process is maximised and the circumstances are appropriate.

The representatives of the Call for Palestine petition reiterated their positions and their call on the Slovenian Government to take decisive action.
