Presentation of a book about Bojan Adamič and his time in Albania

On the Slovenian cultural holiday, Prešeren Day, an unforgettable presentation of the book "Bojan Adamič in Albania" took place at the Tirana Opera and Ballet Theatre. The Embassy of the Republic of Slovenia in Tirana organised this event in cooperation with the Albanian Centre for Books and Reading, the Ministry of Culture of Albania and the Albanian Academy of Sciences.

The author of this outstanding book is musicologist and Vice President of the Academy of Sciences, Prof. Vasil Tole. The book reveals the little-known period of Bojan Adamič in Albania, interwoven with a wealth of information from various sources, happy coincidences and the dedicated work of individuals who deeply respected and loved Adamič's work. Adamič was the first foreign composer in Albania to create an unforgettable work - the Sonatina - in 1947. His contribution re-launched the symphony radio orchestra, the opera and ballet orchestra and the eighty-strong military choir, profoundly influencing a whole generation of Albanian musicians.

At the event in Tirana, we were also pleased to welcome the presence of Adamič's daughter, Alenka Adamič, and her family, who preserved and shared precious memories of the great composer.
