The invitation to one of the most recognisable political panels of the security conference is recognition of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and its foreign policy efforts for peace and security in the world.

Prime Minister Golob said that the timing is just not right for reform because we are living in a time of crises, so we should focus on finding solutions, not on Security Council reform that would waste this focus. “In the Security Council, Slovenia will focus on overcoming the misuse of veto. We should really focus on reminding the permanent members of what is the real mission of the UN," said the Prime Minister, adding that small countries could contribute to change. “They can be honest brokers. This is what Slovenia brings,” he concluded.

On the sidelines of the 60th Munich Security Conference, Prime Minister Robert Golob today met with Abdullah II of Jordan. They called for an immediate ceasefire and sufficient humanitarian aid in Gaza. They paid special attention to the worrying situation in Rafah and agreed that every effort should be made to prevent an attack on Rafah. They agreed that the only solution for lasting peace and stability is a two-state solution. The King of Jordan invited Prime Minister Golob to visit Jordan, and he accepted the invitation.

Prime Minister Golob also met with the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani. Regarding the Middle East, they noted the need for an immediate ceasefire, an agreement on hostages and a credible process that would lead to a two-state solution.

Golob also met with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross Mirjana Spoljarić Egger, Director-General of the World Health Organisation Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and chair of the Open Society Foundations Alexander Soros.

Yesterday, Prime Minister Golob met with Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris, Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres and United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi.

The Prime Minister concluded his visit to the Bavarian capital with a discussion on the urgent reforms of the outdated institutional framework of global governance, hosted by the BWM Foundation in cooperation with the Bled Strategic Forum (BSF).
