The session reviewed the economic situation in Slovenia and China, the economic cooperation between the two countries to date and identified opportunities for its deepening.

Director-General Šešum opened the session by thanking Director General Yu Yuantang and underlined the good cooperation between the two countries in many different areas. China has great potential for strengthening Slovenian exports. Representatives of both delegations expressed their support for exploring ways of expanding economic cooperation. Slovenia will continue its efforts to reduce its current trade deficit with China.

The Slovenian-Chinese Joint Commission plays a key role in strengthening the existing business opportunities and identifying new ones. Today's session highlighted the potential for increased cooperation in biotechnology, automotive components, aviation, e-mobility, alternative energy production, waste and water management, and care for older persons, and touched upon agriculture, food, tourism and sport.

In the morning, a business event was held at the Slovenian Chamber of Commerce and Industry organised by the Slovenian-Chinese business council.
