Slovenia increases humanitarian aid for Gaza

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has decided to allocate an additional EUR 500,000 to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) for emergency humanitarian aid to the people in the Gaza Strip.

So far this year, Slovenia has donated EUR 300,000 in humanitarian aid for the people in Gaza through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East. On 16 October 2023, the Slovenian Government adopted a decision to allocate an additional EUR 500,000 to the Agency. This year, Slovenia has earmarked a total of EUR 800,000 for humanitarian aid in the region.

Since 2010, Slovenia has provided EUR 3,326,071 in humanitarian and development aid to the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The funds were mainly channelled to humanitarian projects, including the medical and psychosocial rehabilitation of Palestinian children, the training of rehabilitation and psychosocial professionals, and for contributions to the UNRWA.
