Slovenian Prime Minister Golob meets with representatives of 14 business associations

Prime Minister Robert Golob met today with the representatives of 14 business organisations and associations. The discussions focused on joint efforts to ensure the well-being of the residents of Slovenia following the floods. The participants at the meeting agreed on the urgent need for continued dialogue between the business sector and the Government, especially in these challenging times of recovery and reconstruction.

The Government representatives outlined the measures and activities undertaken in the aftermath of the largest natural disaster in Slovenia’s history, the damage resulting from which is estimated at almost EUR 10 billion, and addressed the willingness of the business sector to participate in the reconstruction and the search for joint and solidarity-based solutions for the country’s recovery.

The discussion partners also called for the revival of the social dialogue within the Economic and Social Council, where the social partners would also be able to address outstanding issues in the economic field and take note of the legislative proposals before they go through the legislative procedure.
