The talks were aimed at reviewing the current situation following the disaster that recently struck Slovenia and measures that have been or will be adopted by insurance companies and banks to alleviate people’s hardships. Systemic measures are also being drafted by the Government, with the proposed intervention act expected to be adopted this week. The Government and the banking and insurance sector agree that it is important to maintain people’s trust in the two systems.

The meeting with the insurance system representatives was attended by representatives of the Slovenian Insurance Association and the insurance companies Merkur, Sava, Sava RE, Wiener Städtische Versicherung AG, Generali, Grawe, Allianz and Triglav.

The meeting with representatives of the banking system was attended by representatives of the Bank Association of Slovenia, Addiko Bank, Delavska hranilnica, Deželna banka Slovenije, Nova KBM, Gorenjska banka, Nova ljubljanska banka, SKB, SID banka, Unicredit banka, Sparkasse, Intesa Sanpaolo, BKS banka, Primorska hranilnica and LON d.d..
