To deal with the consequences of the disaster, Secretary-General Stoltenberg highlighted the potential capacities within the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Centre (EADRCC). The Centre is NATO's principal civil emergency response mechanism in the Euro-Atlantic area.

Mr Golob thanked for all the support, especially in the form of the heavy helicopters on their way to Slovenia. This is the emergency aid that Slovenia needs most, alongside heavy engineering equipment.

The Prime Minister also briefed the NATO Secretary General on the increasingly obvious extent of the damage, which is unprecedented in Slovenia's recent history. Reconstruction will be challenging and time-consuming, so Slovenia is counting on the Alliance's continued support.
