Secretary-General Cvelbar Bek visits Manila, where Slovenia will open a new Consulate General

Secretary-General Ambassador Renata Cvelbar Bek met with DFA Undersecretary Antonio Morales and Assistant Deputy Minister for European Affairs Maria Elena Palo Algabre during her visit to the Philippines, where Slovenia will open a new Consulate General. Their discussions focused on the strengthening of economic and political cooperation between the countries.

“The opening of the Slovenian Consulate General in Manila will bolster cooperation between the two countries in all areas, especially the economic cooperation. In addition, it will strengthen consular activities, including the provision of assistance to Slovenian citizens travelling to the Philippines,” underscored, among other thing, Secretary-General Cvelbar Bek.

Undersecretary Morales and Assistant Deputy Minister Palo Algabre expressed their satisfaction with Slovenia’s decision to open a Consulate General and agreed that this was an important step for the deepening of cooperation between Slovenia and the Philippines at all levels.

All internal procedures for the opening of the Consulate General have been completed and the decision on the opening will soon be published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia.
