Women’s programme on the margins of the NATO Summit in Vilnius

The women’s programme taking place on the margins of the NATO Summit of heads of state and government in the Lithuanian capital of Vilnius, was also attended by the Slovenian Prime Minister’s partner, Tina Gaber.

The hosts of the first day of the women’s programme were the spouse of the Lithuanian President, Diana Nausėdienė, and the spouse of the Secretary General of NATO, Ingrid Schulerud.

In the company of the spouses and partners of the heads of state and government of the NATO member countries, Tina Gaber visited the National Gallery in Vilnius on the first day and became acquainted with Lithuanian contemporary culture and history. Guided by the Director General of the Lithuanian National Museum of Art, the guests viewed the works showcased in two permanent exhibitions and a retrospective exhibition while accompanied by the authors.

The hosts of the second day were the spouse of the Lithuanian President, Diana Nausėdienė, and the spouse of the Ukrainian President, Olena Zelenska. The guests visited the Ukrainian Centre in Vilnius. Tina Gaber viewed the occasional exhibition, heard a personal story of a young Ukrainian refugee and listened to a performance by Ukrainian musicians.

The programme ended with a visit to the Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania with a presentation of individual periods of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. After ascending the observation tower, the guests were informed of the history of the city and surrounding buildings in the old town centre, which are under the protection of UNESCO.
