Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development approves EUR 13 million for project learning of young adults

Ministry of Cohesion and Regional Development has issued the first grant decision under Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 approving 13 million euros for the project “Project learning for young adults” (PUM-O+), which will be implemented by the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities. The first funds will be allocated to young people aged 15-29.

Minister of Cohesion and Regional Development Dr Aleksander Jevšek said that the funding approval demonstrates that “we are ready to start implementing the new financial perspective.” Issuing the first grant decision marks the actual launch of Slovenia’s Cohesion Policy Programme 2021-2027 implementation.

Employment Service of Slovenia and external contractors will work together on the PUM-O+ project to empower young people aged 15-29 who are neither in employment, education or training or at risk of dropping out of the education system. PUM-O+ will enable them to continue their education and enter the labour market. The programme will, thus, contribute to increasing employability, social inclusion and equal opportunities for at least 1,800 young people across Slovenia. The first EU funding approved under the new financial perspective 2021-2027 is targeted at young people, giving them a brighter and more financially secure future.

The project worth 13 million euros will receive European Social Fund Plus support of 8,417,500.00 euros.
