Government appoints Acting Director of the public agency SPIRIT Slovenia

The Government of the Republic of Slovenia has issued a decision appointing Rok Capl as Acting Director of the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, Internationalisation, Foreign Investment and Technology, with effect from 12 February 2023, until the appointment of the Director, but for a maximum period of six months, i.e. until 11 August 2023 at the latest.

As the public competition procedure for the selection of the Director was closed in 2022 without a proposal for the appointment of the Director, and the new composition of the SPIRIT Slovenia Council for the next five-year period was appointed in December, the announcement of a new public competition procedure was postponed until January 2023. In view of the above and the likelihood that the competition procedure for the selection of a new Director will not be completed by the end of the term of office of the current Acting Director, the Council of SPIRIT Slovenia has adopted a decision proposing that the Government of the Republic of Slovenia reappoint the current Acting Director, Rok Capl, as Acting Director of SPIRIT Slovenia, as of 12 February 2023, until the appointment of a new Director, but for a maximum period of six months. This will ensure the smooth functioning of the Agency.

The CV shows that the candidate fulfils the conditions for the post of Director under the Public Agencies Act and the Decision on the establishment of the Public Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for the Promotion of Entrepreneurship, Internationalisation, Foreign Investment and Technology. If the Director of the Public Agency ceases to hold office, the founder shall, on a proposal from the Council, appoint an Acting Director without a public competition until a new Director is appointed, but for a maximum period of six months.
