He noted that all animals deserve humane treatment and announced the drafting of new legislative proposals that will improve their situation. According to him, the key is to change people's attitude towards animals.

"Humaneness is a word that defines us, humans. It all starts with us. And this is a point that we will have to address if we want to truly implement animal protection. Not only on paper, but also in life," the Prime Minister noted in his address at the debate. He said that new bills are currently being coordinated within the coalition, and he expects broad support for the proposed solutions, such as a central animal shelter, a shelter for farmed animals and an effective animal police force, etc.

The current coalition is strongly in favour of increased animal protection, the Prime Minister said, also thanking civil society and non-governmental organisations for their invaluable role in protecting the rights of animals.
